Your job as a houseman is a divers job in which you support the entire housekeeping department, an important, fun and divers job! Curious what such a day will look like? Keep on reading!
As houseman you start in the morning with a briefing from the housekeeping supervisor in which you will be informed what is waiting for you that day. By this time, the linen has arrived and you make sure there is enough stock in each pantry for the room attendants. In the meantime whilst you are cleaning up the linen you receive a call from the Front Office, room 528 would like to have an iron and ironing board in their room before going to breakfast. You know how important it is to satisfy our guests so you ensure that the guest has received his iron and ironing board within no time. After arranging this you get called by the housekeeping supervisor, due to a few sick reports, the team needs some extra help cleaning the rooms. With pleasure you help the room attendants with the stripping of the rooms which means that you already take of the bed linen and pick up the dirty towels. After you have stripped the necessary rooms you go to the canteen for a delicious lunch, which you are now ready for! In the afternoon you will refill the pantries and storerooms of the housekeeping.
